Independence Day 2026 Celebrations at Muslim Elders Home
Sri Lanka Independence Day was proudly celebrated at the Muslim Elders Home on 4 February 2026. As in previous years, the home continued its tradition of marking this important national occasion with respect and unity. The celebration brought together residents, staff, and visitors in a spirit of patriotism and gratitude for the country’s independence.
A special highlight of the day was the visit by the students and staff of Monash English Academy. Their presence brought great joy to the elders, creating a warm and lively atmosphere. The students interacted with the residents, shared meaningful moments, and took part in the Independence Day observance, making the celebration even more memorable.
The Muslim Elders Home extends its sincere thanks to Monash English Academy for their generosity, thoughtful gifts, and kind donations. Their support reflects true community spirit and compassion towards the elderly. Such visits not only strengthen bonds between generations but also remind us of the importance of respect, care, and appreciation for our elders.
The annual Independence Day celebration at the Muslim Elders Home continues to be a meaningful event that honors both the nation and the valued senior members of the community.
